Dr. Wan Abdul Rahaman

Dr. Wan Abdul Rahaman is currently the Head of Kedah Rubber City, Northern Corridor Implementation Authority of Malaysia. A graduate from the University of California, Davis, and the Kansas State University, Manhattan, USA, Dr Wan began his career at the Malaysian Rubber Board in 1972 where he worked for more than 33 years holding a variety of positions including Deputy Director General, Research and Development from 2001 – 2005.  From 1998 – 2002, he served as CEO of the Tun Abdul Razak Research Center (TARRC), the United Kingdom R&D Company established to promote the application of rubber and rubber products in Europe. He was responsible for the setting up and heading ELGEM Technology Company in UK, in 1998, the commercial arm for commercialization of R&D findings from TARRC. Dr. Wan’s extensive engagement in the rubber industry led to his appointment (2004 – 2006) as the Chairman of the International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB), an active group of 16 world’s natural rubber research centers focused on intensifying efforts in rubber.
